RIP Elliot Handler, Mattel Founder and Hot Wheels Inventor
Elliot Handler, the father of Hot Wheels, passed away on July 21st, 2011. He was 95. Elliot and business partner Harold “Matt” Matson founded Mattel (a combination of both of their names), where Elliot’s wife created the Barbie Doll in 1959.
